@PresidentRich Not really. Cancer lasts a long time. You can apply for insurance the day of your diagnosis and be accepted no questions asked. Or maybe people will just get the bare minimum insurance in case of emgergency, then get something better if they get a chronic problem. Either way, I don’t think the insurance company’s 2% profit margin is going to hold up. lol.

My tiny, meek, hardworking, incredibly intelligent, talented, and productive roommates have to use food stamps. They have to manage their money extremely carefully just to survive, just to bring in enough to HAVE food. And they often do go without food because they can’t afford it, even with the welfare.

So, you can drop your ignorant generalizations, they aren’t applicable or enlightening, they are self-gratifying platitudes.

I don’t know about everyone else, but I would take better care of myself if I didn’t have health insurance. I’d be more careful with what I do, what job I choose, what I eat, I’d probably go out and exercise more often too. Why? Because I’d have a reason to, I’d have nothing to fall on.

Americans are ignorant of basic economics, and this allows them to be
conned and suckered time after time. They foolishly believe in the promises
of self-serving politicians who are also either woefully ignorant or
cynically corrupt knowing that people will accept whatever is forced upon
them as long as it comes with some nice words to make them feel
better.

Nothing is free and gov’t is not here to help you. Only a pure free market
can reduce costs and increase quality.

The easiest and correct way to reform health care is to A.) Get rid of the FDA’s ability to regulate drugs B.) Get rid of government support for HMO and PPO plans, provide tax incentives to companies that adopt plans like whole foods. C.) Have the supreme court declare this recently passed health care bill as unconstitutional.

Did that asshole seriously just say Grocery insurance???

How could adding a lot of lawyers, insurance salesmen, accountants, lobbyists, investment bankers, economic advisors, and administrators to the health care infrastructure possibly drive up it’s costs?

Universal Accident Care – Very possible (government coverage possible with nominal taxes)
Universal Disease Care when the food and water supplies have been systematically poisoned and useless prescription drugs cause more damage.

Impossible to cover not enough trees on the planet.
