The insurance companies operate on 3-6% net revenue (profit) which is on par with most major industries. You wouldn’t want EVERY procedure to be given the green light because then operating costs (and therefore your premium) would rise accordingly. In a gov’t system the pay would just come from taxes.
Clearly a shill. You have a choice between providers. However the insurers use price gouging. Thus their is no competition or real choice. That is not democracy or capitalism. It is closer to fascism. It is a monopoly by the insurers. The douche bags who say they don’t want the govern. between them, and their DR. need to ask themselves “Do I want an Insurance company (aimed at profit) between me and my doctor?”. That is what happens, an insurance agent not a DR. decides what your entitled to.

Hi i’m Australian, Health care in Australia is governent regulted, you only pay 1.5% of the your salary < $20/week it covers you for free hospital care or visiting a doctor. Reform must come, its crazy that you can profit from not treating a sick person unheard of in Australia! US Capitilsm gone crazy! National health care can be a reality in USA but It requires a national protest, & revolution against those in power- the health insurance co’s
You americans have lived for so long in this nutty system that you think it’s the only way it has to be….but that’s just not so. Canada funds its healthcare at around $3500 per person, the US spends $7000 per person. A single payer system funded to your levels in the US would be very very good. So the money’s in your system, it’s just not going to the sick, as Bill Clinton often says.
